Having one day in Shkoder is enough if you know what to visit. Together with an experienced cycling guide, you will explore the one of the oldest cities in the Balkans and its surrounding by bicycle. We will meet at B Hostel in the very centre of Shkoder at 10-30 am. It’s located in the pedestrian street nearby the drinking spring.
Route: B Hostel Mosque Ebu Beker – Franciscan Church – the Clock Tower – St Stephen’s Catholic Cathedral – Museum of History – the Venetian Mask Factory – Parruca Mosque – Old Buna Bridge – Peace Village – Shiroka (Shkodra Lake) – Church of Our Lady of Good Counsel – Lead Mosque – Rozafa Castle – The Center.
It’s typical to have a cycling tour in Shkoder, as it’s the main way of transportation for local people around the city.
First, we will enjoy the architecture of the Old City. We will visit several mosques and churches, which represent cultural and religious diversity in Shkoder.
Our visit to Museum of History and the Venetian Mask Factory will make our trip not only active but also cultural.
Crossing the Buna River, we will ride in Shiroka along the Skadar Riverside. This place is picturesque and incredible! We will stop at the beach for a while, and you can swim.
On the way back, we will visit the Rozafa Castle, built by Romans in 167 BC. It’s especially beautiful during the sunset time.
Although the route is saturated, it’s also suitable for teens and beginners in cycling.
